Guilherme and Gustavo Carvalho, the duo behind Oakhouse, create fine art that evokes emotion, whether through their travel-inspired photography or AI-generated pet portraits. While their art was strong, their self-made branding didn’t reflect their ambitions as fine artists. Our task was to elevate their business positioning, helping them appeal to a discerning audience across the US and Canada. We crafted a strategy that showcased their art’s emotional depth while refining their brand to feel professional and high-end.

No. 2 Visual Identity

The Oakhouse brand draws inspiration from the brothers' surname, Carvalho, meaning “oak.” We designed a logo that featured a wood texture within a painting frame, symbolising both their name and their craft. Their colour palette—earthy greens, browns, and blues—complemented their nature-driven photography, while fine, serif fonts gave the brand an artistic, refined edge. This visual identity elevated their image, positioning them as fine artists while staying true to their roots.

No. 3 Wild Card Week

With limited time for a full website overhaul, we stepped in with our Wild Card service. We applied their new branding to their website in a focused session, redesigning product cards to make their framed art appear as if it’s floating on a gallery wall. This small but impactful service resulted in a staggering 410% boost in engagement and a 300% increase in conversions. The updated website now perfectly matches their refined visual identity, giving their online presence the same level of polish as their art.

Behind the Scenes

Halfway through this project, life threw me an unexpected challenge—I lost my mother-in-law. It was a difficult time, but the patience and kindness of Guilherme and Gustavo helped me through it. This wasn’t just a professional favour—it was a personal thank-you for their understanding.

The real breakthrough came one morning as I walked along the beach near my home, the same beach my mother-in-law loved. As I took in the natural beauty, the idea for Oakhouse’s final colour palette hit me. Nature, the very subject of their work, had already chosen it. Sand beige, grass green, sky blue—it was all there, perfectly capturing the shared emotion of holding on to a treasured memory.
